Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote' Launched Janet Jackson Smash!
As President of American Artists Records, Las Vegas Disc Jockey John Dote' launched "What Have You Done For Me Lately" by Janet Jackson on A&M Records which charted at number 2 in San Francisco in 1986. This single set the stage for what was to become one of the biggest albums of the year, "Control" which eventually went platinum. "Nasty" also soared to the top of the Billboard charts and was followed by sold out concerts and performances from the icon on her rise to stardom. Janet was and still is pure talent. There was no American Idol in those days. But Jackson became one. During that same year, the Las Vegas Disc Jockey produced the themes from "Dynasty" and "Dallas" which were considered the biggest hit television shows throughout the globe. He was also involved with the making of the theme from Jaws 2 on MCA Records with Joe Saraceno.
Auction house previews Jackson family items for Las Vegas sale
LAS VEGAS -- Michael Jackson's gold record award for the "Thriller" album, a "Victory Tour" program signed by Jackson family members, and handwritten lyrics for the 1970 Jackson Five hit "ABC" are among the items to be auctioned next month unless the entertainer moves to block the sale, officials said.
Arlan Ettinger, founder and president of Guernsey's Auction House, compared plans to sell more than 1,100 Jackson family items May 30-31 to an auction of Elvis Presley Graceland memorabilia he conducted in Las Vegas in 1999.
"It certainly is in that sphere of landmark, high profile, extraordinary auctions," Ettinger told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
A representative for Michael Jackson said the pop icon was considering legal action to stop the auction planned for the Hard Rock hotel resort in Las Vegas.

Will Michael Jackson cancel more shows? Yes...The King Of Pop Is Dead...
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Times reports pop star Michael Jackson has been rushed to hospital by paramedics, while the celebrity gossip site TMZ is reporting he's dead.
Capt. Steve Ruda told the paper that paramedics responded to a call at the 50-year-old Jackson’s home around 12:26 p.m. and that he was not breathing when they arrived.
The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center.
TMZ quotes another unnamed Jackson family member as saying that Michael is in “really bad shape” and that his brothers are headed to UCLA. TMZ further says that "once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive."
News helicopters are hovering over the hospital and at Jackson’s house. Farrah Fawcett died this morning and so did the king of pop. The following article was published before his death.
King of Pop
Rehearsals for Michael Jackson's This is It concert series have been a disaster. The self-titled “King of Pop” has allegedly been vomiting, crying, fainting, and screaming at everybody. One can assume that this is the reason some of his shows are being cancelled, although it hasn’t officially been stated. “Michael Jackson has become a pathetic shadow of his former self,” one person from the rehearsals told me. “It would be better off if he didn’t show up for the shows at all.”
There is more trouble for Michael Jackson. The Smoking Gun is posting the documents from his 1993 child abuse allegations, which Mr. Jackson paid himself out of. The details are real, graphic and disgusting. Michael Jackson may be a kid himself, but allegedly victimizing kids the way he did in these documents is very disgusting. While some may argue that the allegations are false, it's still sad that there are people out there who actually think Michael Jackson is a saint.

Tony Bennett
As Tony Bennett approaches his seventh decade of international renown and heartfelt devotion to his fans and family, his star continues to rise.
Born Anthony Dominick Benedetto in Astoria, Queens in New York City, Tony Bennett seemed destined for a career in music. Growng up, listening to Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, and jazz artists such as Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, and Joe Venuti. young Bennett's fate was sealed
Performing professionally by the age of ten, Tony Bennett would soon attended New York's High School of Industrial Art, studing music and painting, but dropped out at age 16 to help support his family.
After a brie stint in US Army, Tony Bennett studied at the American Theater Wing on the GI Bill. Tony Bennett was taught the bel canto singing discipline, which would keep his voice in good shape for his entire career.
In 1949, Tony was spotted by Pearl Bailey and asked to open for her in Greenwich Village. A year later, Tony Bennett was signed to Columbia Records by Mitch Miller.
Tony Bennett's first big hit came in 1951 and was "Because of You", a ballad produced by Miller with a lush orchestral arrangement from Percy Faith. Bennett followed with a rendition of Hank Williams' "Cold, Cold Heart."
Bennett's third #1 single came in 1953 with "Rags to Riches". Later that year Bennett began singing show tunes to make up for a New York newspaper strike; "Stranger in Paradise" from the Broadway show Kismet reached the top, as well as being a #1 hit in the United Kingdom and starting Bennett's career as an international artist.
